Following the success of the 2016 competition, we are pleased to announce the plans for CAYAC 2018! We hope that you and your students enjoyed and benefited from the experience last time and will be entering again this year. If you have not entered before, please consider this as an invitation to do so.
This year’s competition will be held at:-
Cottenham Village College from Fri 2nd to Sun 4th March 2018.

To enter, please select your best pieces (two per Key Stage 1-4, plus Sixth Form and pre-school if applicable,) and deliver them to Cottenham Village College Reception between Monday 29th January 2018 and 15th February 2018 (during school hours). Where Arts Society volunteers are already in place, they may be available to help with transport to the exhibition venue.  There are more detailed notes accompanying this letter on a separate page.
ALL entries will be displayed at the Exhibition, between 2nd-4th March 2018. Entrants and their parents will be invited to a teatime Award Ceremony at 3pm on Saturday 3rd March. There will be prizes for work judged ‘Best in each Key Stage Group,’ and an overall winner for ‘Best in Show’, one each for Primary and Secondary school age groups. The judging panel will be announced shortly.Arts Society members and other visitors will be invited to vote on ’Best in Show’ during the day on Friday March 2nd.
This is a fantastic opportunity for your students to be part of a major art exhibition with the possibility of gaining individual recognition and publicity for your school’s achievements in art.
The Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts have offered three wonderful prizes for those in Yr 10 and above: free places on several of their Summer Schools. For the Primary School age group, Sarah Hunt, Stained Glass Artist, has offered workshops with the winning school for the Best in Show pupil and up to 15 classmates, to understand stained glass making and to design and create mementoes or a commemorative panel of glass. Final details will be discussed with the relevant school.

Please contact Steve Ferris to express interest (contact details above) or your regular Arts Society volunteer, if you have any questions.
